Korea Risk Group appoints Jeongmin Kim as Executive Director

Korea Risk Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Jeongmin Kim to the role of Executive Director, effective immediately.

Jeongmin has served as Editorial Director of Korea Pro since 2022, playing a pivotal role in growing the publication’s reputation for rigorous, policy-relevant analysis on inter-Korean affairs and South Korea’s political landscape. In her new capacity, she will assume broader responsibilities across Korea Risk Group’s portfolio, with a primary focus on leading the strategic, editorial, and operational direction of Korea Pro.

As Executive Director, Jeongmin will oversee the development and production of Korea Pro’s flagship products—including its newsletter, podcast, and “Month in Review” series—while continuing to write and edit high-impact analysis for NK NewsNK Pro, and Korea Pro. She will also work closely with the CEO to translate organizational vision into clear strategies and ensure their execution across editorial, events, and client engagement teams.

“Since joining Korea Risk Group as a remote research and social media assistant in 2019, Jeongmin has demonstrated exceptional talent, leadership, and dedication to our mission,” said Chad O’Carroll, CEO of Korea Risk Group. “Over the years, she has played an integral role in elevating the quality and breadth of our products — while deepening our influence across government, business, and academic communities.”

“We are thrilled to appoint her as Executive Director, and I have every confidence that she will continue to drive Korea Pro and our wider initiatives to new heights,” O’Carroll added.

Jeongmin brings more than seven years of newsroom experience to the role, including as Lead Correspondent for NK News and NK Pro.

Prior to joining Korea Risk Group, she worked with Reuters, CSIS Korea Chair, and held research and editorial roles in both Seoul and Washington, D.C.
